After releasing “Blood Sucking Babes from
When I was a kid, I went through a phase where I absolutely lived and breathed horror movies… they used to run old B-Movies on a TV show called “Chiller.” They didn’t show the famous, classic B-Movies… but more obscure, totally cheap B-Movie horror. I remember “The Hideous Sun Demon,” where a scientist actually went through reverse-evolution when he was exposed to the sun, and turned into a prehistoric lizard-creature. “Target Earth” was fun – made in the 50’s - and “The Cyclops,” was about a giant 50 foot man with one eye. He kind-of twisted his face up and growled which was frightening and made you feel sorry for him at the same time. Do you remember any of these? … kirkfilms@hotmail.com. I also loved “The Monster of Piedras Blancas” – about a Black-Lagoon-type creature that wreaked havoc in a seaside community. Years ago I took a film class taught by the director - Irv Berwick, who told us a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff that went on. I’ll tell one of his stories next Blog.
There were some movies so obscure… there was one with a giant glob/creature that looked like a big beanbag chair. It squished a skinny, weasly guy named Max, trapped in a cave… till blood poured out of his mouth. That was pretty daring for a movie on TV back then. Sound familiar? I can’t think if that title.
Well, I’m still thinking about how to get some DVD screeners to some of you readers there… and I’m sure I’ll come up with something within the next couple days…
